Alex J. Nagy, 90, of Fairmont passed away Sunday June 4, 2017 at Bridgeport Health Care Center. He was born on June 28, 1926 in Ethel, WV son of the late Alex and Mary Bori Nagy.

Alex retired after 43 years from Eastern Association Coal Company Federal #1 Mine, and was a member of the U.M.W.A District 31. He was a Veteran and served in the United States Army. Alex was an avid gardener, fisherman and enjoyed spending time with family.

Alex is survived by his wife Lena Turney Nagy and his three children and spouses, James A. and Julie Nagy of Charleston, Janet and Sam Pellerite of Allentown, Pennsylvania and Joseph A. and Kim Nagy of Morgantown. He is also survived by his grandchildren Nicole Pellerite Rinehart, Samantha Pellerite Watkins, Lauren Nagy, Alexa Nagy, Tyler Nagy and Ali Nagy. He is also survived by one sister Elizabeth Phillips of Bellview and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother Paul Nagy and four sisters Mary Chase, Rose Egress, Irene Clayton, and Margaret Conkly.

In keeping with Alex’s wishes he will be cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the care of the Ross Funeral Home 801 Fairmont Avenue Fairmont.
